# No one acted better than the likes of these two characteristics

April 14, 2013 Comments off

From of Anas who said that the Messenger of Allaah - sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam – met Abu Dharr, and said to him: ‘O Abu Dharr Shall I not inform you of two characteristics which are lighter on your back and heavier on the scales than other than them?’ He answered: ‘Of course O Messenger of Allaah.’ He said: ‘You should have good manners and remain silent for a long time. I swear by He in whose Hand is my soul no one has acted upon better than the likes of these two characteristics.’ [Silsilah ahadeeth a saheehah No. 1938] Note - the first and foremost of good manners is to give Allaah His right: tawhid. It is impossible to achieve good manners while committing the greatest dhulm (oppression) i.e. shirk.

Allaah will forgive him even if he was one who fled during the advance of an army

‘Whoever says:

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إلَّا هُوَ الحَيُّ القَيّوُمُ وأَتُوبُ إِلَيهِ

‘Astaghfirullah al-Adheemal-lathee laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa Huwal Hayyul Qayyoomu wa ‘atoobu ‘ilayhi.

‘I seek the forgiveness of Allah the Mighty, Whom there is none worthy of worship except Him, the Living, the Self-Subsisting and Supporter of all, and I turn to Him in repentance.’

Allaah will forgive him even if he was one who fled during the advance of an army.’

Abu Dawud 2/85, At-Tirmidhi 5/569
Al-Albanee Sahih t-Tirmidhi 3/182

Seeking Forgiveness for Each believing Man and Woman

’Ubaadah ibn as-Saamit radiallaahu ’anhu related that the Prophet sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam said:

“Whosoever seeks forgiveness for the believing men and the believing women, Allaah will record for that person – equivalent to every believing man and believing woman – a good deed.”

Related by al-Haythamî in Majma’az-Zuwaa‘id (l/210) where he said: “The isnaad is jayyid.”

Praising Allaah when wearing garment

whoever wears a garment and says:

الحمدُ للهِ الّذي كَساني هذا (الثّوب) وَرَزَقَنيه مِنْ غَـيـْرِ حَولٍ مِنّي وَلا قـوّة .

Al-Hamdu lillaahil-ladhee kasaanee haadha (at-thawb) wa Razaqaneeh min ghayri hawlin minnee wa laa quwwatin

Praise be to Allah who has clothed me with this (garment) and provided it for me without any strength or power on my part

is forgiven his past and future sins.
